Whether it is a gondola ride, downhill mountain biking, playing golf, rollerblading in the Village center, or a mountaintop hike, we invite guests to discover what makes our resort unforgettable and where a weekend together feels timeless. Mountain Biking 

Northstar Bike Park
The Northstar Bike Park featuring nearly 60 percent beginner and intermediate trails, the park is ideal for learning and growing. More advanced trails, like the iconic Livewire, offer experienced riders a range of technical challenges and a smooth flow. The park has a total of 52 trails, including scenic rides overlooking Lake Tahoe and Martis Valley. For the most in-depth one-on-one attention, try a full day lesson with the Specialized Academy and work with an expert bike coach while trying out this year’s latest bike gear.
Specialized Bike Academy at Northstar                                          
The exclusive Specialized Bike Academy at Northstar takes mountain biking to new heights. Riders of all ages receive a personalized coaching experience from certified Specialized instructors and access to top-of-the-line Specialized downhill equipment. Lessons are designed to help riders gain confidence, conquer new terrain, improve technical ability and discover a new way to explore the Sierra.
Trailblazers Teen Bike Camp
The Trailblazer Camp features the best mountain bike coaches of the Specialized Academy providing instruction to the next generation of riders. Riders aged 10-16 years old, of all ability levels, receive four days of group lessons providing and unrivaled opportunity for progression and unforgettable experiences. The camp utilizes the Northstar Bike Park’s lift access for downhill bike trails.     
Enduro World Series at Northstar California
Northstar is excited to host the only U.S. stop on the 2019 Enduro World Series, August 24-25. The two-day race tests riders’ endurance levels and technical skills on a variety of Northstar Bike Park trails. Enduro is a rapidly growing discipline that combines the physical endurance of cross-country riding with the technical difficulty and excitement of downhill racing. The Enduro World Series is a free spectator event, as fans can view competitors by hiking trails or purchase chairlift tickets to view the race from multiple vantage points.

Scenic Hiking

Take a hike, or ride, to the Top of Northstar California and enjoy some of the best views of summer and fresh mountain air from 8,610 feet above sea level. Northstar offers 39 hiking trails rated for various ability levels where guests can get exercise, have fun, and take in the incomparable panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. A scenic chairlift ride is a great way to experience and explore Northstar all summer long. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Northstar offers public guided hikes where families can discover the natural history of the area, the stunning Sierras, surrounding forests and wildlife. Private guided hikes are also available for those who want to go at their own pace with their individual group.

Northstar California Golf Course                                          

Northstar California’s formal and challenging Golf Course provides golfers with a balanced atmosphere of tradition and relaxation in the mountains. The front nine are open to the Sierra Nevada and Martis Valley, appealing to beginners and families, while the back nine weave tightly through the pine and fir trees at the base of Mount Pluto. Northstar Golf’s team of PGA professionals offer private lessons for families and individuals, along with a variety of clinics for juniors and women. End the day with a refreshing beverage at Martis Valley Grille and enjoy the scenery from the sunny patio with beautiful views overlooking the course and Martis Valley.

Young Adventurers

Miniature golf is both fun and educational at Northstar California. The course is Sierra themed with elements of local flora, fauna, and designs that pay homage to the area’s history. Educational signage at each hole ensures that the whole family gains knowledge on lesser known mountain facts, like how mountain bike parks can nurture healthy ecosystems or how Northstar California’s Mount Pluto formed Lake Tahoe.
Kids Adventure Club                                           
The full day program gives children the experience of summer camp while parents take the opportunity to unwind. Kids Adventure Club activities include nature hikes, miniature-golf, gem panning, roller skating and more. Each daily plan also includes an engaging ecological activity to foster appreciation for the mountain environment where we vacation, live and play. Kids Adventure Club runs Monday through Friday until August 30th and concludes Labor Day weekend.
Kid Zone Day Pass                                              
Available for all ages, the Kid Zone Day Pass allows parents the flexibility of letting kids run off to play without having to make individual activity purchases. The pass includes roller skate rental, and access to the Bungee Trampoline, Spider Climb, rock-wall, gem panning and miniature-golf. Passholders have access to the activities until 7:30 p.m. on the day of purchase, ensuring a full and exciting day of play.

Explore the Village                                                          

Northstar Village offers dining options for every guest during the summertime. Whether you’re looking for pizza at Rubicon, California cuisine at The Grille Sawtooth Ridge, or tapas at Petra, we have just the thing for you. Cool down with a beverage at one of our Village bars and relax at the outdoor cabanas, adjacent to the rink. Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon enjoy live performances from local bands and musicians right in the Village while you enjoy happy hour from 3-6 p.m.
Spa and Yoga                                                    
Tahoe Yoga, Spa & Wellness is a mountain sanctuary in the Village at Northstar. Separate spaces, Tahoe Yoga & Wellness and Tahoe Spa & Wellness, allow for two distinct experiences. The yoga studio focuses on well-being, personal growth and the awakening of the body, mind and heart. The spa prides itself in personalized, results-oriented treatments that heal the body, calm the mind and awaken the soul. Hyper-local treatments include the Truckee River Stone Massage and Spirit of Tahoe Custom Facial. Both locations are found steps away from the Big Springs Gondola, making a seamless transition from hiking or mountain biking to relaxation and recovery. Find your zen every Friday as Tahoe Spa & Wellness has partnered up with Petra Wine to offer Sips and Salutations. Unwind before the weekend with a one-hour yoga class on the mountain followed by a premium glass of wine and enjoy the scenery Northstar has to offer.
Roller Skating                                                    
Positioned as the hub of activity in the Village at Northstar, the roller rink is open daily for kids, families and those young at heart. Retro Tuesdays and Family Fun Nights on Fridays pump up the excitement with costumes, music and a lot of laughs. Roller blades are available for rent.

Signature Events

Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival
Nestled in the heart of the Sierra, the 34th annual Food & Wine Festival presented by the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association is sure to inspire your palate and bring you an elevated culinary experience. Renowned winemakers and some of the region’s finest chefs come together for cooking seminars and demonstrations, culinary competitions, wine tastings, mountain top dinners, live music, a gourmet marketplace and more. Seminars for the 2019 event range from intimate on-mountain tastings to large-scale, gastronomic celebrations in the Village. The Grand Tasting wraps up the festival featuring plates from the finest regional restaurants, prepared by top local chefs, paired with world-class wineries and breweries.                                  
Guided Stargazing at the Cosmoarium
Tahoe Star Tours take place every Thursday evening during summer at Northstar, where you can see the stars in one of the best places for stargazing in Tahoe. Renowned star guide and poet Tony Berendsen will teach you about the galaxies above as you huddle around the fire pit. Get an in-depth look at our solar system and beyond with powerful Celestron telescopes, allowing you to wonder what else might be up there. A one of a kind experience you can only get at Northstar California, the Cosmoarium will deliver wonder and amazement for your entire family at this truly unique nighttime experience.
Brunch for Dog People
Grab brunch with your furry four-legged friends on the dog-friendly patio at The Grille at Sawtooth Ridge every Saturday and Sunday of the summer. Tito’s Vodka will make a matching dollar for dollar donation to the Truckee Humane Society for each dollar spent on Tito’s cocktails. Make a reservation ahead or walk on in and enjoy.

Getting to Northstar

Northstar California Resort is less than an hour away from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) and just ten minutes away from the Truckee-Tahoe Airport (KTRK). KTRK offers unparalleled access to private airlines on flight services such as Mountain Lion Aviation, available on-demand, and Surf Air, flying from anywhere in California.

Convenient non-stop routes to RNO include San Jose and Oakland in the Bay Area. Southern Californians have non-stop access from Long Beach, which JetBlue increases to twice daily flights in February, Orange County and San Diego. Travelers coming from Los Angeles (LAX) can choose from a total of eight daily flights on Southwest, United or American Airlines. With such easy travel access, visitors traveling within California can leave their homes and breathe alpine air by the afternoon.
