Things To Do
Northstar California Bike Park
Northstar California Bike Park leads the gravity-born downhill, cross-country and freeride industry with the largest, lift-served bike park on the West Coast. Having nearly 60 percent beginner and intermediate trails, the park is ideal for learning and growing. More advanced trails, like the iconic Livewire, offer experienced riders a range of technical challenges and a smooth flow. The park has a total of 52 trails, including scenic rides overlooking Lake Tahoe and Martis Valley.

Specialized Bike Academy at Northstar
The exclusive Specialized Bike Academy at Northstar takes mountain biking to the next level. Riders of all ages receive a personalized coaching experience from certified Specialized instructors and access to top-of-the-line Specialized downhill equipment. The Specialized Academy is set in an elevated lounge, complete with leather seating and stone architecture accents, creating an ideal setting for starting or ending a day on the mountain.

Northstar Golf Course
This formal and challenging course provides golfers with a balanced atmosphere of tradition and relaxation. The front nine holes are open to the Sierra Nevada and Martis Valley, appealing to beginners and families, while the back nine are tight within the pine and fir trees. Northstar Golf’s team of PGA professionals offer private lessons for families and individuals, along with a variety of clinics for juniors and women. Whether the goal is to play as a family or reach professional dreams, the clinics are rooted in fun.

Spa and Yoga
Tahoe Yoga, Spa & Wellness is the newest mountain sanctuary in the Village at Northstar. Two separate spaces, Tahoe Yoga & Wellness and Tahoe Spa & Wellness, allow for two distinct experiences. The yoga studio focuses on well-being, personal growth and the awakening of the body, mind and heart. The spa prides itself in personalized, results-oriented treatments that heal the body, calm the mind and awaken the soul. Hyper-local treatments include the Truckee River Stone Massage and Spirit of Tahoe Custom Facial.

Roller Skating
Positioned as the hub of activity in the Village at Northstar, the roller rink is open daily for kids, families and those young at heart. Retro Tuesdays and Family Fun Nights on Fridays pump up the excitement with costumes, music and a lot of laughs. Classic roller skates or in-line blades are available for rent across from Frites and to the left of True North.

New for summer 2017, the miniature-golf course is reimagined with Sierra themed holes just in time for July 4th celebrations. Each hole is built out with replica structures and educational signage. Some of the holes feature elements like local flora, wildlife and pay homage to the area’s history of mining and ice production. Other holes feature less-known facts, like how wooden mountain bike features, showcased on Livewire trail, prevent erosion or how Northstar California’s Mount Pluto formed Lake Tahoe.

Summer Fun Day Pass
Available for all ages, the Summer Fun Day Pass allows parents the flexibility of letting kids run off to play without having to make individual activity purchases. The pass includes roller skate rental, and access to the Bungee Trampoline, Spider Climb, rock wall, gem panning and miniature-golf. Passholders have access to the activities until 7:30 p.m. on the day of purchase, ensuring a full and exciting day of play.
Most of these activities are at the Kid Zone, a designated area for adventurous playtime, on the second level of the Village at Northstar. New this summer is an expanded space for parents to relax behind the Spider Climb, Bungee Trampoline and rock wall. This area includes Adirondack chairs, cornhole and close proximity to the Overlook Bar.

Kids Adventure Club
The full day program gives kids the experience of summer camp and parents the opportunity to unwind. Kids Adventure Club activities include Nature hikes, miniature-golf, gem panning, roller skating and more. Each daily plan also includes an engaging ecological activity to foster appreciation for the mountain environment in which we vacation, live and play. Kids are separated into two groups, Chipmunks age 4-6 and Bears age 7-12, ensuring that each group receives age-appropriate lessons and outdoor adventures.
With more than 15 dining locations at the Village at Northstar and on the mountain, there is plenty to choose from.

Yamakai Fish and Sushi Co.
New this summer is Yamakai Fish and Sushi Co., located near the roller rink. The name, inspired by Hawaiian and Japanese fusion cuisine, is a combination of the words “yama” meaning mountain in Japanese and “kai” meaning ocean in Hawaiian. Diners can expect a refined menu of seafood, sushi and Japanese-inspired fare served in a visually-inspired location near the roller rink. The extensive kids menu, wine list and colorful atmosphere create an elevated space for families to dine together.

Martis Valley Grille
Tucked away in the secluded neighborhoods at Northstar California lies Northstar California’s Sunday Mimosa Brunch hot spot. The Martis Valley Grille lies alongside the Northstar Golf Course, serving breakfast and lunch daily. Outdoor seating overlooks the namesake valley creating a perfect 19th hole after a round of golf or an intimate place to connect on a relaxing weekend getaway.

Also new to the Village in 2017 is Frites, serving gourmet fries and craft brews. The menu includes classic fry fare such as House Fries, with a smoked sea salt blend, and Garlic Fries enhanced with a roasted garlic sauce, smoked garlic salt, fresh parmesan and cracked black pepper. Guests can also try reimagined recipes, such as Short Rib Fries complete with Brussel Crips, or the Northern favorite, Poutine. And yes, it all goes good with a cold beer.

Downhill Grille + Bar
Open only during the summer season, the Downhill Grille + Bar at mid-mountain is the hub of the Northstar California Bike Park. Signature dishes include seared ahi fish tacos, juicy burgers and fresh salads.

Tavern 6330’
Set in a modern-rustic atmosphere, Tavern 6330’ elevates classic ski lodge dining with hints of alpine comforts. Outdoor, covered and indoor seating is open for lunch and dinner giving diners the option of overlooking the Village, mountain or sinking into an intimate conversation. This restaurant is known for hand-crafted cocktails, locally and responsibly-sourced ingredients, and a seasonal menu created by Executive Chef Chad Shrewsbury.

Copper Lane Café & Provisions
One part café and the other part market, Copper Lane Café & Provisions has become a fan favorite since opening during the 2016-2017 winter season. The concept is clear: keep food simple. Guests can find locally roasted coffee, produce and dairy, as well as an extensive selection of beer, liquor and wine. The kitchen is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with handmade pastries and refreshing recipes. The provisioner also offers forgotten necessities and toiletries.

Rubicon Pizza Company
Inspired by the Sierra Nevada, Rubicon Pizza Company has some of the most creative pies in the region. This lunch and dinner restaurant is child-friendly, relaxed and sets the tone for easy family dining. Two items on the menu that consistently stand out are the Thai Red Curry Chicken Pizza and Jacob’s Lotsa Cheese Please! Pizza for kids.

A locally-sourced tapas menu, wine flights, lounge seating and an outdoor fire pit give Petra the ideal atmosphere for meaningful conversation. Dishes are approachable, family-friendly and go well with the ever-changing seasonal wine list. Glasses and bottles are for sale as a dining experience or retail to bring back to hotel accommodations.
