Lift-Accessed Mountain Bike Park Scheduled to Open June 7
TRUCKEE, Calif. – Summer 2013 – Warm weather in Lake Tahoe and early-season trail maintenance will allow Northstar to open its lift-served mountain Bike and Hike Park early this summer. Scheduled to open Friday, June 7 (weather and conditions permitting), riders of all levels are invited to experience the thrill of downhill and cross-country mountain biking on some of the most popular trails in the region.  Trail conditions are expected to be excellent thanks to expanded early-season trail maintenance crews.
The resort’s bike event schedule is filling up quickly with downhill and cross-country race series events, as well as the return of the Tahoe Trail 100, a qualifying event for the Leadville 100. In addition, instructors at the resort’s signature Bike Academy are fine-tuning programs for those interested in getting into the sport or improving their skills.
“We continue to elevate the mountain biking experience at Northstar through trail development and with signature events drawing riders of all ability levels,” said Andy Buckley, director of resort skier services at Northstar. “Our trail crews have new features planned and are working to improve our trails.  We have also expanded our popular cross-country bike race series to include Saturdays.”
