18-Hole Course Offers Tahoe’s Best Resort Golf Value
TRUCKEE, Calif. – Summer 2013 –The Northstar golf course is expected to open Friday, May 17, 2013, weather and conditions permitting. The 18-hole, par-72 golf course incorporates Tahoe’s wooded and mountainous landscapes into two distinct nine hole settings that will both challenge a golfer’s skills and appeal to the senses. With a variety of multi-pay, season pass options, and group and vacation packages available this season, Northstar offers a picturesque golf experience for enthusiasts of every level.
“The course is in incredible shape, and we look forward to welcoming golfers of all levels back for play beginning May 17,” said Pete Smith, Northstar’s director of golf. “Golf season passes are now available for sale, and once the course opens, the daily greens fee can be applied toward the purchase price of a golf season pass.”
Designed by Robert Muir Graves, the Northstar golf course is a vibrant and exciting course with features that create a flow of movement that seamlessly moves in and over the natural terrain. The Meadow Nine (holes 1-9) opens to a links-style course, allowing golfers to “grip it and rip it” down the fairway. The Mountain Nine (holes 10-18) demands precise play through tree-lined fairways with demanding approach shots onto smaller traditional greens. Playing up to 6,781 yards, the Northstar golf course offers four tee locations and carries a rating of 72.4 from the Northern California Golf Association.
Northstar Golf Season Passes and Golf 3-Paksare some of the most affordable ways to get out on the course this season. Season Passes start at $329 through June 20 (some restrictions apply) and include passholder benefits such as discounted lesson programs, food and beverage specials and more. For $53 per round, the 3-Pak includes 18-holes and use of a shared cart. When compared to the greens fees at other North Shore resort courses, Northstar’s 3-Pak offers the best value and delivers with top tier service.
For those interested in improving their game, personalized golf instruction will be offered throughout the season by Northstar’s golf professionals.  Northstar offers a variety of private golf instruction that can be tailored to every individual, couple or family.  Weekly group clinics run from June 12 through August 31, 2013 for $20 per person. Group clinics are priced at $20 per person and include Adult Full Swing, Adult Short Game, Women’s Full Swing, Women’s Short Game, a Family Clinic and a Juniors Clinic for ages 12 and under. Visitors can also Stay & Golf Free with the resort’s special summer lodging package, which includes one night of accommodations and one round of golf with a shared cart for play anytime. The offer starts at $75 per person, per night based on a two-night minimum stay and double occupancy. Some restrictions apply.
Northstar’s strong support of the local environment carries over onto the golf course. The Audubon Signature Cooperative Sanctuary System designated the course as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. This coveted environmental honor recognizes developments that have merged wildlife conservation, habitat enhancement, resource conservation, and environmental improvement with the economic agenda associated with the development.
